Philly Pride Run Receives Platinum Sponsorship from Independence Blue Cross
Independence Blue Cross (Independence) has joined the 2022 Philly Pride Run as a platinum sponsor. Taking place on Saturday, June 11, proceeds will benefit the William Way Community Center.
“Independence is proud to sponsor the Philly Pride Run because it promotes healthy, fun activities while supporting the William Way Community Center’s critical efforts to empower the LGBTQ+ communities in our region,” said Lorena Plaza, Independence Blue Cross vice president of Financial Planning and Analysis and executive sponsor of the PRIDE associate resource group.
William Way Chief Development Officer Erin Busbee said, “We are excited to have Independence as a Platinum Pride Run sponsor. They have supported us in the past, and we’re so glad they have continued their commitment to the community.”
The Philly Pride Run Presented by Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia is back with an in-person run for its sixth year of loud and proud running through the streets of Philadelphia. All runners and local running groups are invited to celebrate Pride with the LGBTQ+ communities by doing what we do best: running and bringing our communities closer!
Lez Run Running Club and Out Philadelphia Athletic League, in collaboration with The William Way LGBT Community Center, are excited to continue the tradition of celebrating Pride Month with a festive run through the city of Philadelphia.
New route for 2022
The Philly Pride Run Presented by Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia will take place on Saturday June 11 starting at 8 AM at the Please Touch Museum located at 4231 Avenue of the Republic, Philadelphia, PA 19131.
The 5K race will be a chip timed event with prizes for the top three Female, Non-Binary and Male divisions. The 5K will also have prizes for the top three Female, Non-Binary and Male participants in the wheelchair division. The one-mile Fun Run/Walk will be a non-timed event with prizes for the top three most festive participants.
The William Way LGBT Community Center is a 501-c-3 non-profit that operates its programs 365 days a year, normally at its location in Center City Philadelphia at 1315 Spruce Street.
